I'm glad I got it December 2, 2008 Sure it's not easy to apply because it's not cut that great. I saw the problem with the back piece (with the 4 flaps) ahead of time and cut the top flap off, then applied it first and then the back piece. After the shield dries the seams appear to be lined up closely and neatly. The part that really made me nervous was applying it to the touch pad. At first I was like "No way!" but after I applied the piece for the screen I knew it would look sick and I would never have to worry about scratches on it ever again. after a few hours it will begin to clear up and after a few days your zune will look like it was dipped in clear rubber. It's the best way I can describe it. Whenever my friends see it now they want one. The touch pad slides easily but isn't slippery (in a good way, for me at least). I don't really feel a difference in sensitivity at all (there's gotta be a difference but I just don't feel it). I tried scrolling up and down and switching left and right and the interface responds smoothly as it did before. I guess it's the same thickness as the shields they use for the touchscreens. Either way it's hella durable (yep, I tried the key test and it actually works).
The shield has additional trim (the outer edges of the template it's initally attached to) that could be cut to fit the top or bottom if you want to tackle the exposed 4 corners yourself. I would've but I'm out of the spray. It's not that big of a deal anyway (at least for me).
Now I don't have to worry so much about cosmetic damage to the device and I don't have to keep it in a bulky case. Don't need it now, just a holster (I'm using a cellet iphone case and it fits perfectly).
I also ordered an invisible shield for my phone since it has a touchscreen.
Best Protection Period November 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is my second invisible shield, I got one for a Zen Vision M 30 Gb a couple years ago. I installed it the day my Zune 120 GB arrived. Not an easy installation but I got it. It got some small bubbles inside but within a day or two, they turned into microbubbles and afterwards they dissapeared. It fits nicely even though the corners don't get a protection at all, but my main concern is the screen which is covered completely and perfectly. For the Bad reviews, some people think this is a magical invisible hard case that will be shock proof, IT IS NOT. Its intended to keep your Zune scratch free. With the Invisible Shield on you can get any case you want later, some may be good or bad and it won't matter, but your Screen will be protected. This is the best accessory for your ZUNE, it won't peel off or scratch for years. Try it and you won't regret it. I didn't even got an extra case for mine, my Zune looks like it was unboxed yesterday.
Not Good Enough October 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It doesn't cover the areas that get hit the most. The sides are not protected at all. It only protects from light scratches if you drop it, it doesn't help either.
Does Not Cover All of the Device July 17, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Although I believe the Invisibleshield does what it is supposed to do, it can only protect the areas it actually covers. The shield is actually short 3 mm or so along its height and width. The corners are completely uncovered, with about 1/2 cm wide gaps. There is some empty space around the buttons and pad as well. Zagg puts much more detail into its Apple line of Invisibleshields. iPod shields include little wedge pieces that fit cover corners. The iPhone shield even has jagged cutouts to fit every nook and cranny. Take a look at the pictures on their [...] The Zune is much more box shaped than iPods so I do not understand why they did not bother to come up with a design that actually fits and covers the whole device. Invisibleshield is also incredibly noticeable on the front matte surface, but would look great on the back if it fit correctly.
Every non-iPod product is clearly only an afterthought for Zagg. I'm only leaving the Invisibleshield on because there is no trustworthy alternative.
Awsome works perfectly! June 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just got my invisible shield for the zune 80 and it is awesome. It was a little hard to install but once I got a hang of it, it was really easy to install. After I let it dry for 12 hours it came out perfect. only a few tiny air bubbles but it doesn't affect the view of the screen. overall this product is a must have for any portable device.
